![]() DRY SKIN Curing dry skin is all about moisturizing and nourishing the skin. It can be a constant battle, but apply yourself to the right nutrients listed in Section One, you will find your dry skin a thing of the past. You will need the following: 1. Dry Skin Cleanser. If you think a dry skin cleanser makes you break out, change to a normal skin cleanser. Herbalife's last 2 months with just 1 squirt per use! 2. Toner. Toner helps gets rid of any excess residue of soap and dirt. Herbalife's is only $14! 3. Exfoliating Scrub. Herbalife's is
fantastic and not irritating to the skin. 4. Moisturizing Mask. I prefer Herbalife's or you can use a mask that moisturizes and pulls out impurities. 5. Cotton Pads. I prefer organic ones that are circular in
form. For whatever reason, they seem to
pull out more dirt. 6. 7. Omega-3,
vitamin E with Tocopherols and Aloe Vera. These listed supplements nourish your skin to
keep it moist and supple. Please review Section One. ![]() For best results, follow this routine: 1. Apply to Dry Skin. Work product into skin like a lotion in cirucular motions. As your skin begins to soak it up, slowly add a little bit of lukewarm water. Dermatologists will tell you that lukewarm is best, especially since hot water will dry out your skin more. 2. Clean your skin while singing "Happy Birthday to You" three times. Use your fingertips in a circular motion, but do not apply too much pressure. Dry skin can irritate easily. Clean well but gently. I wash my neck with my cleanser while I am in the shower. Don't forget to cleanse around your hairline and jawline. 3. Rinse your face. Splash lukewarm water on your face at least 20 times. If you are in the shower, rinse for 20 seconds. Make sure to rinse well around your nose, eyes, hairline and jaw line. 4. Dry your face. Dermatologists will tell you to then pat dry with a clean towel. With dry skin especially, try not to rub your face dry. 5. Apply toner. I love the Herbalife toner! Never have I seen a toner get my face so clean without irritation. Make sure to do this very gently in a circular motion so not to exacerbate your dry skin. 6. Exfoliate. The skin has to be exfoliated. If it is not exfoliated, new fresh skin cannot come to the surface. Use your exfoliating scrub after your skin cleanser. I keep my exfoliating scrub in my shower and it is used every time I shower. With dry skin, you will need to gauge how often you can use without irritating your skin - most likely 2 to 3 times per week. Cleanse all particles off your face, especially around the hairline, jaw line, nose and eyes. Choose an exfoliating scrub that is not too abrasive and scratches the skin. Herbalife's exfoliating scrub with almonds is very gentle. Make sure you are not allergic to almonds. 7. Use a moisturizing mask. I recommend 1 to 3 times per week, dependent upon the results you want. If you are prone to blackheads, use more often. Always apply your mask after your skin cleanser. Rinse thoroughly. 8. Moisturize well. My models rave about Herbalife's dry skin moisturizer. Moisturize to combat dry skin and also as a protective barrier against the elements. 9. Heavily moisturize your eye area. The eye area needs stronger moisturizing. Use a good eye cream made especially for this delicate area. I prefer A&D Baby Ointment. It is very inexpensive, a tube lasts over a year and it keeps me virtually line free in my mid-forties. 10. Keep your lips moist. I use A&D Baby Ointment on my lips at night and I live in Chapstick during the day. The point is to make sure you always have something on your lips to protect them. If breakouts occur around your lip area, change what you are using. 11. Supplement your skin. Omega-3, Vitamin E with tocopherols and Aloe Vera are key to keeping your skin in top condition against dryness. They heal and moisturize the skin. If your skin is very dry, increase your number of Omega-3 soft gels. Start with one soft gel per day. Slowly move up to as many as 3 to 6 per day. If you see your skin becoming too greasy, cut back. 12. Dry skin can have acne. Where you tend to break out, you can spot use 2% salycic acid and 10% benzoyl peroxide cream. Soak a cotton ball or a q-tip with 2% salycic acid on the blemish. After it dried, dab 10% benzoyl peroxide onto the blemish as well. If the breakout is very minimal, try either the salycic acid or the benzoyl peroxide alone and see if that does the trick. Review Section Two on oily/acne skincare for more tips. OTHER SUGGESTIONS FOR
DRY SKIN:
REMEMBER: Sometimes dry skin is more than
just dry skin. If all my suggestions do
not work, I recommend you make an appointment with a dermatologist to find out
if it is something more severe than dry skin, such as psoriasis. ORDER YOUR SKIN PRODUCTS HERE ORDER BOOK | BIO | HOME VITAMINS, SUPPLEMENTS and A HEALTHY DIET | OILY/ACNE SKIN | DRY SKIN | TIPS FOR AGING SKIN |
